Advanced Heart Care, Close to Home

Heart and vascular problems can be serious, but getting answers shouldn’t require long travel or stressful delays. At Canyon Vista Medical Center, our upgraded cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab) brings advanced heart care directly to Cochise County.

What Is a Cath Lab?

A cath lab is a medical unit where doctors diagnose and treat heart and blood vessel conditions using minimally invasive techniques. Instead of open surgery, physicians guide thin, flexible tubes, called catheters, through blood vessels to the heart. With advanced imaging technology, care teams can see blood flow and heart structures in real time. This approach typically leads to faster diagnoses, more precise treatments and shorter recovery times.

How We Diagnose Heart Problems

Coronary angiography and cardiac catheterization are common diagnostic procedures performed in the cath lab. Coronary angiography identifies blockages or narrowing in the heart’s arteries. Cardiac catheterization measures heart pressure and function.
