Emergency Medicine Fellowship
Advance Your Career in Emergency Medicine
The Canyon Vista Medical Center Emergency Medicine Fellowship is a 12-month postgraduate training program designed for physicians who have completed a non-emergency medicine residency and are seeking additional education and clinical experience in emergency medicine. Through a combination of hands-on patient care, dedicated specialty rotations, weekly didactic education, and procedural training, fellows gain the skills and confidence needed to excel in the emergency department and prepare for board certification in emergency medicine.
Comprehensive Clinical Training
Fellows train in Canyon Vista Medical Center's emergency department while working alongside experienced emergency medicine physicians and clinical teams. The program includes:
- Community emergency medicine rotations
- Dedicated pediatric emergency medicine rotation
- Dedicated trauma emergency medicine rotation
- Weekly faculty-led didactic education
- Advanced airway training
- Emergency ultrasound training
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification
- Board examination preparation and educational support
These experiences provide exposure to a broad range of medical emergencies, including trauma, pediatric care, cardiac emergencies, respiratory failure, sepsis, behavioral health crises, and disaster response.
Fellowship Benefits

- Annual salary of $100,000

Eligibility and Career Advancement
The Emergency Medicine Fellowship is accredited through the American Academy of Physician Specialties (AAPS) and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians (AAEP). Graduates are eligible to pursue board certification in emergency medicine through the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS).
