Internal Medicine

The Internal Medicine Program started in 2007 under the direction of William Elliott, DO. It started with 5 residents and received their initial ACGME Accreditation in 2018 and Full Continued Accreditation in Oct. 2021.

The program has graduated 66 residents since it began. We have had some stay and join the Sound Physicians as Hospitalists here at CVMC, while others have joined practices throughout the state of AZ or have chosen to return to their home states to practice. We also have a graduate teaching at A. T. Still University and is the President of the AOMA American Osteopathic Medical Association.

Mission Statement

The mission of the residency program at Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) is to provide resident trainees with advanced and concentrated training in the specialty of Internal Medicine in an environment that fosters a culture of quality continuous improvement, and safety.
