CVMC Launches Online Childbirth Classes for Expecting Families
April 27, 2026
Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) is expanding access to maternity education with the launch of new online childbirth classes, giving expecting parents convenient, flexible learning opportunities from the comfort of home.
Through a partnership with Birthly, Canyon Vista Medical Center now offers a comprehensive series of live, instructor-led virtual classes designed to support families through every stage of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.
These interactive classes are led by certified childbirth educators and include real-time instruction, opportunities to ask questions and practical guidance to help families feel informed and prepared.
“Preparing for a new baby is an exciting time, and having access to reliable education is an important part of that journey,” said Marie Iverson, Director of Women and Newborn Services. “By offering online childbirth classes, we’re making it easier for families in our community to access trusted information and build confidence as they prepare to welcome their baby.”
The online curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Early pregnancy preparation and what to expect
- Labor and delivery, including timing contractions and understanding interventions
- Comfort techniques and coping strategies for labor
- Breastfeeding education and support
- Newborn care and the “fourth trimester”
- Infant safety and postpartum health
Classes are offered multiple times each month, allowing families to choose sessions that fit their schedules. Participants can join from any device and revisit sessions as needed, providing added flexibility for busy parents.
This new online option complements the hospital’s existing maternity services, which include personalized labor and delivery care, lactation support and a dedicated Women and Newborn Services team focused on supporting mothers, babies and families.
Canyon Vista Medical Center remains committed to its mission of making communities healthier by expanding access to education and resources that empower families before, during and after childbirth.
