CVMC and The Legacy Foundation Seek Nominations for 2026–2027 Veterans Wall
May 27, 2026
Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) in partnership with The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona (LFSAZ), are now accepting nominations for the 2026–2027 Veterans Wall, an annual recognition honoring veterans whose commitment to service continues to strengthen communities across Cochise County.
Since its inception, the Veterans Wall has recognized veterans not only for their military service, but for the meaningful impact they make after their time in uniform. This unique recognition places a strong emphasis on community involvement, celebrating those who dedicate their time, energy, and passion to volunteering and serving others throughout Cochise County.
Eligibility for nomination is intentionally broad. Veterans of any branch of the United States Armed Forces—Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard—may be nominated, regardless of length of service, as long as that service was honorable.
“What sets the Veterans Wall apart is our focus on what happens after military service,” said Margaret Hepburn, CEO of The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona. “We are looking for individuals who continue to serve their neighbors, uplift their communities, and make a lasting difference throughout Cochise County.”
Nominees may be current or former residents of Cochise County, and nominations may be submitted for individuals who are living or posthumously. Selection is based primarily on the veteran’s community impact, with greater weight placed on volunteerism and service beyond professional responsibilities.
“Service is a mindset that stays with you long after military service ends.” Said Scott Avery, Army Veteran and CEO of Canyon Vista Medical Center. “It’s inspiring to see so many veterans continue that path through volunteerism and community involvement. The Veterans Wall is a way to honor that ongoing service throughout Cochise County.”
Community members are encouraged to nominate veterans who exemplify the spirit of service, those who have made Cochise County a stronger, more connected place to live through their continued dedication to others.
