CVMC Welcomes Dr. Michael Nuzzo

Canyon Vista Medical Center is pleased to announce that Michael Nuzzo, MD, has joined Sierra Vista Medical Group – Orthopedics. Dr. Nuzzo is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Fellowship-Trained Sports Medicine Specialist, bringing over 15 years of experience in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Dr. Nuzzo earned his Doctor of Medicine from Rutgers University Medical School and a master’s degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Texas Tech University and William Beaumont Army Medical Center and a Fellowship in Sports Medicine & Shoulder Surgery at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Nuzzo served as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox and as Orthopedic Trauma Consultant for Iraq Joint Operations during his deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his contributions to military medicine.
Dr. Nuzzo has also served as a team physician for multiple collegiate sports teams, providing expert care for student-athletes.
Dr. Nuzzo specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures to treat injuries of the hip, shoulder, knee, and ankle. He welcomes athletes at all levels as well as individuals seeking expert orthopedic care. He takes a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with physical therapists, coaches, and trainers to help patients recover and return to their active lifestyles.
